Trailer Breakaway Switch

The patented DEWEL non-contacting waterproof switch was invented for use on trailers that use electrically or hydraulically operated brakes.  The switch provides an electromechanical means to energize a towed trailer brake in the event of unintended decoupling of the trailer from the towing vehicle.  We recognized the need for a switch that could survive the harsh environment without the failure modes of existing designs that use mechanical contacts.
